Switzerland Tourism worked with Digital Dialog to increase the number of visitors to Switzerland using a creative digital marketing campaign. The campaign achieved exceptional Facebook and Instagram results, with very high user engagement.
Switzerland Tourism turned to Digital Dialog to manage the #InLovewithSwitzerland campaign. The objective was to target those who had already visited Switzerland and to invite them to show how they initially fell ‘in love’ with the country by creating outstanding user-generated content.
Digital Dialog’s initial challenge was to identify people with an affinity for Switzerland. We did this by studying website visitors and then precisely targeted those interested in all things Swiss. We focused on the 35-65 age group, as Switzerland is very popular with a more affluent, older market, interested in winter sports and enjoying relaxing, scenic surroundings. We created lookalike audiences, using a multichannel strategy to drive traffic to the website through Facebook, email and Instagram. The website was crafted to allow users to upload their stories themselves, where they were displayed for all to see. Digital Dialog used a competition to motivate users to get involved in the campaign (a free trip to Switzerland for one lucky user); as well as a deadline in order to instil a sense of urgency, to get as many entries as possible.
